History and Key Facts

Aiglon College Switzerland was founded by John Corlette in 1949. Over its more than 70-year history, Aiglon has established itself as a non-profit organization, reinvesting its operating profits back into its development. Today, the school employs 240 staff members and has an annual turnover nearing 50 million Swiss francs. External experts, such as PwC, regularly audit the school to ensure compliance with best practices.

Aiglon College Switzerland Campus

The campus is located in Villars-sur-Ollon at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. It comprises 30 buildings covering a total area of 60,000 square meters. The stunning alpine environment greatly influences the educational process and the personal growth of students. The mountainous landscape is a defining feature of the college’s atmosphere.

Academic Achievements

In 2023, Aiglon College Switzerland’s graduates excelled in their IB exams. The average score was 35.2 out of 45, with 20% of the students scoring over 40 points. All 80 students who took the exams passed successfully. The average subject score was an impressive 5.2 out of 7. Graduates were admitted to leading universities in the USA (47%), the UK (28%), and other countries (17%).

Educational Programs at Aiglon College Switzerland

Aiglon offers a holistic educational program that combines classical and progressive approaches. The IBDP is available for students in grades 12-13. Small class sizes and personalized support create ideal learning conditions. The Junior School covers grades 3-6, the “Discovery Years” encompass grades 7-8, and the Senior School includes grades 9-13.

The curriculum emphasizes literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and creativity. Multilingual education with a focus on French is a key component. Experiential learning is widely used through the Mountain School and educational trips.

Accommodation

Aiglon College Switzerland has ten residential houses: five for girls and five for boys. Each house has its own unique character and traditions. The senior houses accommodate around 50 students, while the junior houses hold up to 30. Students live in shared dormitories, with common areas for studying, socializing, and dining.
